Instagram launched in October 2010, growing to 1 million users in the first 10 weeks of existence.
The company grew to 27 million users in the first year, according to Apple.
Today, Instagram has more than 30 million registered users, who upload more than 5 million photos per day ! Currenty the application is till free of charge.
Instagram is available for iOS and since last week for Android, this later OS representing 50% of the mobile market.

According to Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram, "Instagram is not going away. We’ll be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We’ll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience."
